Job Description

    This is an opportunity to play a critical role in providing analysis and key metrics to the CIB Controllers team and Finance senior management regarding IFRS 9 and Lease Accounting and SEC / regulatory reporting. This role would be as an individual contributor / working with a small team.

    Responsibilities

    The individual’s responsibilities will include:

    IFRS accounting central support


    - Working on IFRS 9 deliverables and ensuring timely completion of activities

    - Maintaining Legal Entity inventory having IFRS 9 impact

    - Identifying Classification and Measurement (C&M) as per IFRS 9 and working with Corporate Accounting Policies and Product Control teams to finalize accounting treatment for items on a quarterly and annual frequency. Liaising with auditors and closing any query that they may have on the C&M assessments

    - Consolidating and publishing details on Securities Finance Transactions, Inter-company Loans and Other Assets requiring IFRS 9 assessments

    - MIS Reporting

    Lease Accounting Central Support


    - Consolidation of CIB Business managed leases and Right of Use Asset

    - Submission of CAP exception templates

    - Embedded Lease Analysis and confirmation

    - Management reviews and sign off

    SEC Reporting


    Working on the following areas:


    - Tie Outs for CIB Earnings Release, Results of Operations, CIB Segment and related information

    - Control Owner Templates

    - Variance Analysis and commentary

    - Impairment deck for management information

    - Various SEC related activities during quarter-ends



    Others


    - Objective setting for the function and self

    - Identifying automation opportunities and working on automation projects with the Tech CoE team including providing overview, defining scope, User Acceptance Testing, implementation and go live

    - Maintaining up to date SOPs and documentation

    - Stakeholder engagement and working with diverse teams – Product Controllers, Regional Controllers, LECs among others



    Upcoming / Future state may include


    - Regulatory reporting support to onshore team



    Qualifications


    - 5 - 8 years in a Finance organization with exposure to accounting, financial statements, regulatory reporting, and products

    - Experience in an Investment Bank Controllers organization and/or knowledge of SEC reporting or Reg Reporting a plus

    - Knowledge of IFRS 9 / 16, Lease accounting a plus

    - Ability to summarize complex information and deliver it at business executive level

    - Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

    - Self-motivated and willing to take initiative; ability to thrive in a changing work environment

    - Strong grasp of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    - CA / Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
