    We are inviting applications for the role of Manager, Risk


    We are looking for a Risk audit professional for its Asia based audit team covering Risk and Treasury for Asia. The person in the role will assist the Internal Audit Department’s Risk audit team in performing risk assessment, monitoring and planning; executing audits; communicating to senior management and the Board Audit Committee those areas requiring control enhancements; and providing recommendations for improvements.

    Responsibilities



    Responsible for audit work across the Market and Credit Risk functions, assist in the completion of the audit plan supporting Market Risk Audit or other risk pillars.

    · Assesses inherent business risks and perform risk assessments at the audit entity and process level

    · Prepares audit planning documentation, conducts walkthroughs, and assesses the internal model and control environment through control and substantive testing

    · Evaluates the adequacy and the effectiveness of key controls and potential business concerns by analyzing available documentation and asking insightful questions to identify root causes and draw the appropriate conclusions

    · Documents the results of work performed in the Department's automated workpaper system according to Departmental methodologies and documentation standards

    · Develops and documents audit findings in a clear and concise manner, communicates observations to line management and secures formal management responses to audit recommendations for inclusion in the Audit Report

    · Arranges follow-up meetings concerning open audit actions with line management quarterly

    · Evaluating adequacy of, and adherence to, Risk/ Treasury policies and procedures

    · Assess quality of market, credit, operational and liquidity risk data

    · Involved in On-going monitoring of risk exposures, regulatory calculations

    Qualification

    Minimum qualifications



    · University degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. Mathematics, Physics or Engineering) or business discipline (e.g. Finance, Treasury or Accounting).

    · Five to Seven years of experience in auditing capital markets or credit risk management in a bank or broker / dealer regulated environment, as the individual must have a good understanding of the financial services industry; sales and trading processes, the associated regulatory environment; and internal control and audit processes.

    · Understanding of the regulatory landscape across Asia impacting the Risk Management function

    · Understanding of Risk Management and Treasury processes, gained either as a risk practitioner in a major bank or financial institution, or as an internal or external auditor of a major bank or financial institution.

    · Thorough in work, attention to detail and uncompromised in quality. Most importantly - integrity, self-motivated, eager to learn, courage to withstand push-back and a good sense of professional skepticism.

    · The individual should be self-motivated, able to work independently, resolve challenging issues with innovative ideas, and demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills – English is essential, strong analytical skills

    Preferred qualifications

    • Higher quantitative degree or professional qualifications (e.g. FRM, CFA, CPA/ CA) will be an advantage.
      • Comfortable with interpretation of miscellaneous financial report formats as input documents.
      • Quantitative thinking and the ability to work with a large number of variables.
      • Proficiency in information search and interpretation skills.
      • Good proven understanding of MS Excel – must have
      • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal, written)
      • Should possess a personality and have an analytical bent of mind
