Here we bring you a new success story of one of our subscribers. He worked hard to earn CA to his name. We have asked him a few questions regarding his preparation techniques and his experiences. His words may give you some ideas to prepare and score well in the next exams.

When did you start the CA Course?
I started the CA Course in 2013.
What / who inspired you to choose CA as a profession

Write something about your journey to become a Chartered Accountant, how you started the CA Course, the challenges you faced, the hurdles you have gone through, your articleship experience, etc.
Initially the Journey was smooth. Main challenge was taking classes along with Articleship. The main problem I faced was lack of direction & guidance. Which book to refer, which teacher to go for, the ABC analysis for the same etc. Working hard for 12-14 hrs a day without a right strategy made me fail but a right strategy with 7-8 hrs a day made me pass
Which books you preferred during your preparations
- Paper 1: FR: It is strongly recommended to not to go for Holding. Rather the time that will be saved Shud be devoted on small chapters like ESOP, Value Added, EVA, NBFC, Mutual Fund, HR etc. Questions of AS Shud be picked from past year question papers & presentation for the same should be taken from practice manual. Doing past year papers is a must specially in FR, SFM & Costing.
- Paper 2: SFM: I took FT batch from Parviin Mahajan Sir (Exam Oriented + conceptual clarity) & got 68 Doing homework & revising it immediately after classes is a must otherwise there is no point in taking classes
- Paper 3: Audit: I took FT 6 days F to F batch from Sanithya Saraf Sir. He basically focused on what is to be done till what extent as syllabus is wide & from where the same is to be done
- Paper 4: Law: I saw FTF batch from Abhishek Bansal Sir. He provided conceptual clarity but the matter I referred was Manish Bhandari sir Scanner & main book for presentation purpose

Paper 5: AMA: I took FT Ftof batch from Yogender Bansal Sir. He made us do everything from PM which is indeed a must thing for costing
- Paper 6: ISCA/Electives: I went for Memory Crafters & for some chapters like Audit of IS (ch 6) I took conceptual clarity from Unacademy app from Rajat Jain sir. People say 'heading karlo baaki kuch bhi likh aao' But internal content is must for Ch 1 & 6 which are less in Volume but weightage is more I did MCQ from ICAI Material At the end I did imp questions issued by CA Nikunj Shah which covered 20-25 marks easily.
- Paper 7: DT: Bhanwar Borana Sir's Books ( Compiler & 2 Volumes) were sufficient.(exam oriented) The most important thing in DT is be question answers oriented rather than keep reading text & not doing questions
- Paper 8: IDT: I referred revisionary module of Vishal Bhattad sir & practiced all questions issued by institute.
What was your overall strategy to clear exams?
Be Exam oriented & do past year questions (specially of practical papers)
What was the one thing which worked for you to clear CA Final Exams
Not a fear of failure & faith on God made me pass the exams. Fear of failure stops us from working hard
How many hours do you think is enough to devote to a student appearing for exams during the last month of preparations?
I devoted 10 hrs 4 months before exams but in the last one month it is important to keep your mind calm so then I used to study for 5-7 hrs a day
How much you relied on online notes shared by faculties?
Honestly, not much
How much you relied on online revisionary classes?
I relied on You Tube classes for conceptual clarity of some topics
Express your feeling, the moment when you got to know that you have actually qualified as CA

A piece of advice you want to give your fellows, that will help them in their studies
Do not fear. It's ok to fail. Failing is not a wrong thing. Do not let society affect you as they have lot to say
