Department Overview
Governance comprises Governance, Transitions and Third Party Governance organizations across India and the Philippines. It also includes the Wells Fargo EGS India country governance responsibilities across all the sites in India.

About the role
The requirement includes proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with all risk and compliance program requirements.
Ability to deal with ambiguity, manage in a complex matrixed environment and ability to manage, communicate with and report to senior stakeholders would be key expectations from the role. This role will have interactions with India site leaders, LOB leaders and also the ESS Governance function. The Manager is expected to achieve success by leading himself/ herself, his/her team, and the business. Specifically he/she will:
Lead the team with integrity and create an environment where the team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them
Accomplish management responsibilities viz. sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, completing daily management tasks

Responsibilities
  • Re define WFEGS governance strategy and deliver on the same
  • Ensure effective definition of governance parameters and reporting on the same at the appropriate forums (Board/Board Committees/Councils)
  • Ensure identification of and adherence to relevant policies / compliances by various functions – leverage existing teams to deliver on the same
  • Track and ensure closure of risk observations and corrective actions across the WFEGS
  • Implement enterprise priorities across WFEGS / monitor the implementation of the same in WFEGS as the case may be – RRP related activities, BPM, Model governance
  • Define platform process governance strategy and implement the same – includes steady state certifications and related activities
  • Define the country governance framework for India and ensure that the mechanisms to implement the same across sites are established and monitored
  • Focus on local compliance requirements and effective co-ordination between sites to deliver uniform team member experience to the extent possible
  • Provide guidance, leadership and required support to the Site Leaders across sites in India
  • Design and generate relevant country dashboards and be able to present a consolidated outlook on the same
  • External relationship management with relevant industry forums, regulatory bodies (can be through functions)
Market Skills and Certifications
  • CA/ Post grad in Finance/Business preferred (can be reviewed for candidate with relevant experience in the above areas)
  • Overall experience of over 18 years – preferably a recent stint in the risk / governance / audit function of an entity involved in offshoring activities in the financial services sector
  • Experience in and/or understanding of Risk / Audit org structures, functions of various lines of defense, compliance, legal and ops risk
  • Understanding of governance structures and roles of Board, board committees, statutory councils/ committees
  • Understanding of inter-company relationships/ Legal Entity relationships, agreements, resolution and recovery planning
  • Knowledge of India compliance requirements / resources to access and leverage; processes to be put in place for compliance/ practices around local regulatory compliance in the ecosystem
  • Experience in process quality assurance and governance
  • Ability to think strategically, define goals, identify dependencies and plan execution
  • Experience in structuring, building and managing diverse teams
  • External industry bodies connects/ regulatory relations would be an advantage
  • Attention to detail, results oriented, self-confident and comfortable dealing with senior managers and executives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to research and report on a variety of issues using problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members/ management, and influence senior stakeholders
