ICAI has already declared May 19 schedule for CA Exams of May 19 attempt on 14th February 2019.
However, it was seeming likely to clash with Loksabha Elections that are going to be held in April-May 2019
As official dates of elections were announced at that time, ICAI was not in a position to take election dates in consideration while setting May 19 schedule.
And Yesterday, Election Commission of India declared Election schedule for 17th Loksabha Elections to be held in April-May 2019, ICAI also announced the postponement of CA Exams to be held on May 19.
New Schedule will be as follows:
No examination is scheduled on 5th June 2019 (Wednesday) on account of Id-ul-Fitr, being a Gazetted central government holiday as per F. No. 12/2/2018-JCA-2 dated 11.07.2018 issued by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensions, Government of India.
However, it may be noted that there would be no change in the examination schedule in the event of any day of the examination schedule mentioned above, being declared a Public Holiday by the Central Government or any State Government / Local Authority.
Further, the last date for submission of exam forms stands amended as follows:
Last date for submission of exam forms without late fee: 16 th March 2019
Last date for submission of exam forms with late fee: 23 rd March 2019
However, it is clarified that the other particulars / details as announced vide Important Announcement dated 14th February 2019 hosted on www.icai.org shall remain unchanged.
