YES IT IS CONFIRMED BY ICAI NOW THAT GST WILL BE APPLICABLE IN NOV 17 EXAMS, BUT ONLY FOR CA FINAL STUDENTS & ALSO ONLY FOR 10 MARKS.
GST will become part of Service Tax portion i.e. now bifurcation of marks will be as follows:
- Excise Law 25 marks
- Custom Law 25 marks
- Service Tax 40 marks
- GST 10 marks
(please note: full GST is not applicable only a slight portion is applicable on Nov 17 exams)
ICAI have also reduced existing syllabus of CA FINAL PAPER 8 - IDT
Further, ICAI has also clarified that GST question will become part of the compulsory 1st question which means student should not even think about leaving aside GST portion, if you do, you would definitely loose 10 marks in your aggregation.
Friends, the portion which is being applicable for Nov 17 is not that much difficult, you can easily do it. So take this as an opportunity to get the maximum out of it, because you know now that if you will do this small portion of GST, you can easily score 8-9 marks out of 10 and that too from compulsory question.
All the best for your preparations..!
